About

The purposes of this web log are: to communicate some of the mathematical work that I do, to support my teaching, and to serve as a location where some other mathematical related subjects might be discussed. I felt that there might be room for a mathematics blog that is written by an operator theorist/algebraist. The title is supposed to be a modest homage to Bill Arveson (which nobody is supposed to understand), and should hint both at the main topics to be treated as well as the flavor I will aim at.

I was inspired to open this blog as part of my outreach activities related to the Marie Curie CIG grant that I got for the years 2012-2015 (no. 321749). The grant is over and I did not stop writing. Apparently that was only an excuse.
